How does Simple Cookie Consent work?
Overview
Simple Cookie Consent works by outputting code to the page of your website based on the choice of the user. This action by the user can be determined as consent which can then be used to output the appropriate code to enable or disable services as required.
It is beautifully simple and as such, does not require any third party services or any invasive prevention of code output as you determine what is output based on the choice of the user – simple!
Notification Mode
As soon as you activate the plugin it is immediately operational in order to help with compliance.
By default, the plugin works in notification mode, which is designed to inform users that cookies are operational on the website.
The user can acknowledge this message and the pop-up will drop to the bottom of the page so that is less conspicuous but also easily accessible in the future if required.
Consent Mode
Consent mode allows for more accurate compliance with GDPR and DPA law, by enabling you to provide the option for a user to Accept or Reject certain services and determine whether that code is output to the page or not.
There are three options:
Default, Accept and Reject.
You can customise the wording of each button to suit your own preferences – they could for instance be:
Essential Cookies Only, Accept All Cookies, Functional and Essential Cookies
Essentially each option represents the code which is output to the page, based on that choice. This means you can customise the wording, terminology and code based on your own needs and choices.
